Despite the economic uncertainty and the Budget with its implications for business support, we are pleased to say that Connect Midlands is very much open for business and looking forward to a good year. We have a busy year ahead of us with an exciting schedule of programmes and events to help entrepreneurs become “investment ready” and to then actually raise finance.

Encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and investment is vital since the private sector will fundamentally drive our economic recovery. Raising capital and creating connections to the right people at the right time are crucial parts of exploiting innovation, building value and creating sustained growth.

In November we will celebrate our 10^th Connect Midlands’ Investment Conference (CMIC). We are now actively looking for businesses to showcase at the event who are seeking to raise £500K to £5 million of investment. To prepare and support businesses to raise funds at CMIC, we are offering a preparation programme that enhances their skills to formulate a more attractive business plan and to make a compelling pitch to investors. Remember, since 2001, Connect Midlands has worked with many companies and over 250 have now raised around £200m of investment.
